Introduction
Basic Sciences are fundamental to all engineering and technology. The need for reading Basic Sciences and Humanities in the engineering classes explains the fact that students’ knowledge until the twelfth class is not adequate to prepare them for mainstreams Engineering courses. Humanities on the other hand controls sciences when it goes out of hand.
The humanities studies have an important role to play. It enables the students to appreciate the social, political and economic impact of the technology and consequently how to control that. It also teaches students to build leadership. The Department of Applied Science & Humanities in Silicon includes Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Mathematics, applied psychology, Management, Engineering Economics, Communicative English and business communication. Apart from preparing the students for higher courses, the department takes a major load in administration and examination. The department organizes seminars regularly an issues based on course areas as well as wider human considerations. The department was established in the year 2001.
