Over the last two decades, there has been tremendous growth in the
development and applications of signal processing algorithms. Rapid advances
in communication technology, computer and information technology, and VLSI
have spurred unprecedented research activities not only in the classical
statistical signal processing areas, but also in emerging areas such as
multimedia, wireless communications, sensor signal processing and MIMO
wireless systems. This has resulted in the development of many novel and
innovative signal processing algorithms and methods. Though most of these
advanced algorithms and methods are already in use in many applications,
they are still out of the basic academic curricula. On this ground, Silicon
Institute of Technology in Bhubaneswar is organizing a National Workshop on
advanced signal processing and communication (WASPC- 2010) during 08-10
January 2010. The workshop will be held in Bhubaneswar, which is the capital
of Orissa and which is also home to more than 60 Engineering colleges and
Institutes. The goal of WASPC-2010 is to introduce some of the advanced
topics in signal processing and communication to students, teachers, and
industry professionals, and to encourage scientific research within these
areas. |
