IEEE Chapter @ Silicon

On 24th september, the IEEE Students Chapter was recognised at Silicon Institute of technology, Bhubaneswar by the IEEE Head Quarters, USA.
The Students Branch at Silicon presently constitutes of 33 Student Members. The Branch Counselor of the students branch is Prof. A. K. Tripathy
and the Faculty In-Charge is Er. N. Krishna Silpa. The office Bearers of the Students Branch at Silicon are:

1. Chair - Mr. Vishesh Kumar Agarwal- 7th sem, EE.
2. Vice-chair - Miss. Shreemaa Bhadra-7th sem, ET.
3. Secretary - Mr. Roshan Gupta-5th sem, ET.
4. Treasurer - Mr. Snehasish Kumar-7th sem, CS.

The inaugural function of the students branch at Silicon was organised on 30th October 2009 for which Prof. K. K. Mallik, Chair IEEE Calcutta Section ,
Prof. Bhaskar Gupta, Chair Student Activites, IEEE Calcutta Section and Mr. P.K. Gaan, Retd. GM, Nalco and presently working with Dastur & Co. were invited as Guests.
They motivated the students members to transform the IEEE Chapter at Silicon into a dynamic technical hub.

The first IEEE lecture was also conducted on the same day and it was delivered by Prof. Bhaskar Gupta on "GENETIC ALGORITHM".

The Silicon Institute is an extraordinary place. The air is clear, the colors are bright ,and the sounds are only that of nature and Silicon provides a room to every Siliconite to think, dream, desire, create and implement. A young institute with a difference, Silicon has become a leader. We see the possibilities in things impossible ……. beyond teaching.
