ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL

The Silicon Entrepreneurship Development cell was launched in March 2011 funded by AICTE, New Delhi, with a view to encourage students to consider self employment as a career option, provide training in Entrepreneurship through modular courses and increase the relevance of Management particularly in the non-corporate and under managed sectors. .In the days of multinationals, small scale industry and first generation entrepreneur have to contribute significantly in the country’s economic development. The main thrust of all the policies is on the development of the new entrepreneurs. Motivational inputs and the infrastructure of the support system occupied a significant position in equipping “the first generation entrepreneurs”. The main focus of the cell is to develop entrepreneurial motivation, behavioral skills and competencies and enterprise management abilities among the students.

Objectives

To train and motivate the student for self employment.
To prepare the platform for the students to take up the entrepreneurship as a career
To support continuing education needs of personnel in areas of technology and management
To create environment for innovation and self employment through formal and Non-formal program

Suggested activities of the Cell

To conduct Entrepreneurship Awareness/ Development Programmes on full time/part-time basis for final year students.
To conduct special courses for fresh diploma and degree studies from various disciplines for establishing an enterprise & its management.
To provide a platform to take-up 'Entrepreneurship' as an alternative career

Advisory Board

For effective implementation of the programmes an Advisory Board is constituted. The Advisory Board will lay down policy guidelines, fixing up and suggestion for the development of the cell. The Advisory Board shall meet at least twice a year.
