Silicon Residence
Silicon Residence – a home away from home. The Institute has residence facility separately for boys & girls inside the campus. Silicon Residence has an ideal environment for study since they are located inside the campus away from the din of the city. It is capacious and can accommodate every student. The Campus Development Committee (CDC) organizes variety of entertainment shows for the residents at regular intervals. City rides are provided to all residents once a week.
Canteen
Canteen facility is available for the boarders, day-scholars as well as the employees of Silicon. The canteen prepares several cuisines. Hygienic food is served from 7 A.M. to 10 P.M. round the year and is subsidized for Silicon members and guests. The Canteen is managed by the Institute and coordinated by the Student Mess Committee.
Transport
To augment the need of local transportation within the city the institute provides transport facility for all Siliconites. Both students and staff avail the services. The Silicon Riders pick and drop students along the major routes of Sambalpur.
Medical Facilities
Medical facilities are provided to the residents of Silicon. Doctors visit the campus twice a week as part of regular check-up. General health check-up for staff members is organized twice a year. Ambulance facility is also provided to the students round the clock in case of medical emergencies.
Guest House
Silicon guest house provides comfortable stay for visiting professors, guests, and parents. The guests are provided food from the Silicon canteen on request.
Computer Centre
The computer center is available for the students and staff of Silicon beyond the classroom hours. It also helps the students to carry out their programming practice, project development and internet browsing. It has a 24x7 internet support with leased line internet connectivity.
Library
Silicon Library is the centre of Intellectual activities and receives special attention and importance in the scheme of development of the institute. It subscribes to important journals of national and international repute. Students issue books from the library under three schemes such as Regular issue, Book Bank issue and Overnight issue. A reference section allows faculty and students to carry out internal reading. The library provides resource materials like CD’s, DVDs and e-journals. It is member of DELNET (Developing Library Networks). It subscribes to e-journals (IEL-online) through AICTEINDSET consortium by which members can access the e-journals and e-processing of different fields of Engineering & Social Sciences.
Technical, Cultural and Sports Clubs
Silicon believes in the all-round development of its students. It has a Movie Club, Yoga Halls, Robotics club for the overall development of students. The Sports and Culture Committee monitors all the activities where students organize, participate and attend several cultural activities inside as well as outside the campus. Silicon is soon going to start its Cricket Club, Volleyball Club, Basket ball Club, Music Club, Fine Arts and Literary Club. The campus has infrastructure for several sports and games in the campus.
