Industry interface is an integral function of the institute. It primarily looks into the placement activities, summer training programmes, professional development programmes and career counseling. With the presence of companies like UltraTech Cement Limited, Tata Refractories Ltd., IB Thermal Power Station, Indian Oil corporation Ltd., Singhal Enterprises, L.N.Metallics (P) Ltd., Vedanta, Bhusan Steel Ltd., Hindalco Industries Ltd., Pawansut Sponge Iron (P) Ltd., Sri Madhab Ispat (P) Ltd., Bhagawati Steels., SPS Sponge Iron Ltd., and many more in the close vicinity of the campus, Silicon West can further the assurance of an excellent intake of its students.

Career Development Programs

In-house GATE preparatory classes in the last 2 years have been one of the success stories at Silicon Bhubaneswar. Arindam Bhattacharya, a student of 2010 passing out batch of Silicon Bhubaneswar secured 100 percentile in GATE 2010. Silicon West will role out the same program from 2011-2012.

Memberships in Learning Societies

Silicon encourages its faculty and students to be members of established learning societies in India and abroad. Silicon West intends to establish student’s chapters of ISTE and IEEE.

Seminars and Workshops

Silicon encourages its students and instructors to host as well as participate in seminars, conferences, symposiums etc. Department level seminars as well as seminars of the institute level seminars are conducted regularly. They intend to prepare, especially the students, to participate in national and international forums where they can exchange ideas and share knowledge. These programmes open avenues for advanced research for both students & faculty.
