National Workshop on Emerging Technologies in Electrical Power Engineering (NWET-2019) With Focus on “Smart Energy Management and Protection Systems” from 31st January - 2nd February 2019 Organized by Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar With technical sponsorship from IEEE Bhubaneswar Sub-Section PES Chapter and All India Power Engineer's Group (SPARK…..Ignited to share).
NWET is a forum for the industry & academia to discuss & share knowledge on emerging technologies & practices. NWET-2009 and NWET- 2010 were conducted with focus on HVDC, FACTS and Advances in grid management and power trading. NWET-2011 and NWET-2012 focused on Energy conservation and modern power distribution. NWET-2013, NWET-2014 and NWET- 2015 discussed on Energy policies and Regulations, modern grid management and issues related to Grid Integrated Renewable Energy System with Design Consideration & Challenges. NWET-2017 concentrated on Present Research Trends in Power System Operation and Control. In 2018, NWET focused on Advances in Power Transmission.
NWET-2019 will be concentrating on Smart Energy Management and Protection Systems (SEMPS). SEMP is the system used by operators and energy players from electrical utilities for grid management with proper monitoring, controlling and supervising the system to optimize the performances of the Generation, Transmission and Distribution. This could also be the tool for the utilization of emerging technologies like use of micro-grids, RE, IOT, Smart grids, etc. by the end users. NWET-2019 shall be a platform for academic researchers, industry players, and utility experts to deliberate, interact and share the knowledge and experiences on the advanced technologies. We have with us the eminent speakers from IITs, NITs, PRDC Bengaluru, CPRI Bengaluru, Power Grids, OPTCL Odisha, with their in-depth knowledge can enlighten and make us smart to the energy management and protection system. We have introduced the special features on conducting a TUTORIAL on "Role of Advance Relaying System for SEMPS” with concurrent event of Exhibition on “Products for Smart Energy Management and Protection Systems”. Conducting of I3 Program ( Industry, Institute Interactive Program) is an added attraction of NWET-2019.
