Silicon Institute of Technology is a technical institute in state of Odisha imparting technical education in B. Tech. and M. Tech. program. The Institute is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology. As the most preferred self financing institute in the state Silicon has contributed substantially towards technical education and research in the eastern India.

The Institute organizes seminars, short term courses, symposia, technical events and competitions both in and outside campus for students of engineering. Recently it has started conducting similar events under the name Techno-Zeal for students in secondary and higher secondary level to create awareness on advancement of technology among school students (preferably from 11th and 12th std.) and to help them in their career planning. We have already conducted workshops and competitions on robotics, IT & programming along with science project contests in different schools of Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar.

From the current academic year we are planning to extend this to other schools in India with a online request to the program coordinator. The various program under TechnoZeal are

Expert lectures series:

Two hour lecturer by subject experts on topics of interest in Physics, Mathematics and Computers for class 11th & 12th curriculum

Workshops such as

1- Robotics: One day workshop to train the students about assembling of manual, semi automatic & automatic robots.

2- Circuitica: One day workshop to train the students to solve various electrical and electronics circuit through spice programming.

3- Host Your Self: One day workshop in which the students are trained to design their own webpages.

4- Understanding ‘C ++’: A five day work shop to train the student on basic & advanced “C++” programming.

5- Tame the Python:Students could able to write python programs for various applications such as scientific applications, game designing, file handling, database connectivity and programming using GUI environment. .

6- Train the CPU Brain: It is useful in a variety of situations. These includes writing code for microcontrollers with simple instruction sets and limited memory, optimizing sections of code for performance, implementing optimized signal processing algorithms, implementing firmware such as boot loaders, kernel schedulers, device drivers etc. .

7- Quizinia: A technical quiz competitions.

Mock Test series for class 12th students on JEE Main and JEE advanced examination.

Senior Secondary School Teacher’s Training Program (SSSTTP): Two day comprehensive Teacher’s training program on subjects of Physics & Mathematics.

Who can Host? :
All the above programs can be hosted by any schools affiliated to CBSE/ICSC or state board for the class 11th and 12th students of science stream. The interested Schools may send an online request to us for the program they want to host.

What host schools need to do? :

2. The participants should be from class 11th /12th only. It is preferred to register atleast 50 students to be part of the program. It is encouraged to invite students from nearby schools to have a better competitive environment.

3. The school should provide the basic logistic support such as computer lab, LCD projector with audio system. Seminar hall for presentation and to conduct various competitions as part of the event.

4. The date of event will be finalized based on mutual convenience.

5. There is no registration charge for the participating students.

6. In case of workshops, there will be a competition among the participating students for which, certificate, Seal and prizes will be provided by Silicon Institute of Technology.
